Chapter 4 - Bulkheads (ALL) Started: March 12, 2004 - Finished: October 11 Step 1 - Front Seatback - Click on images for larger versions Well here is my completed seatback. This is the part that I started with and this is the part that everyone should definately start with. It is a very flat, moderately sized layup that will get you going in the process. I actually had to re-do my first seatback.... :-( I must admit that this was due to the fact that I really didn't get up to speed on the peel-ply process and working out the bubbles, so my first seat back has been cut in two and re-purposed as a flat surface upon which to place weights when I do layups. While this might as first seem sad it was an excellent lesson on many levels. It got me involved with other builders in the area becuasue I immediately knew that the first piece was NOT how I wanted this project to go, soooo... a visit from another builder, a lesson in the best ways to get good, consistent products and 2 extra pieces of foam from Wick's Aircraft later and I had a seatback that is EXCELLENT !
ADVICE - Get help early to aid in your confidence and consistency. The remainder of my parts for this chapter turned out great because of this first lesson
