Project Status 1-05-09:

Happy New Year!  I guess by now you realize I'm going all the way on this finishing business.  The picture on the left shows my progress so far on filling and sanding the headrests and the shoulder support structure on the seatback.  The co-pilot's headrest has been sanded in this picture. I'll finish the pilot's headrest and the top of the shoulder support some time this week.  The picture on the right shows one of two ribs that I floxed in, front-to-back, along the nose cone access hole.  The ribs keep the nose cone from flexing, which happens anytime you push on a screwdriver to remove/install the screws for the nose cone cover.  The pre-fabricated Featherlite nose cone has no core to it.  It's just a few plies of fiberglass.  So it tends to flex anytime you push on it.  The ribs stop the flexing and will hopefully prevent the paint from cracking over time.
