It's been a while and much has happened. First, let me say.... I'll write part 2 of that around the world entry here in the next couple days. Second, I had been considering the sale of my project. I had ton's of interest but made the decision that if I were going to sell it would be as a whole project and not parted out. Why was I selling you ask...

For a couple reasons:
- I just finished my Master's Degree and man was I tired... I pretty much didn't want to do anything for about a decade.
- I started to cycle. - I had put on more pounds than I liked so I started cycling to loose weight. I did too! 40 lbs!
- I kept cycling - I discovered that I love cycling so I decided to keep doing it...
- I discovered triathlons - More cycling, add in swimming and running
All of these things conspired to ensure I was making no progress on the plane. I have a bit of an obsessive personality as many builders do and I hate to look at projects making no progress. So I posted on the forums that I was putting the project up for sale. Lots of interest, but lots of interest in parts, like wings and canard and fuse body.... but no takers on the whole kit and kaboodle. While all of this was going on my wife decided that if I weren't actively working on the project that she shouldn't have to endure another winter parking in the driveway. I can't argue with that.. So I stored it.
So the present status:

It's in storage until I feel that itch again. I feel a vague sense of it and I know that its going to be a year or so before it comes out of storage and dominates the garage again... I don't mind. I wasn't selling it for financial reasons, or catastrophe. I just didn't see progress so I wanted someone to work on it. I'm ok with it sitting right now... I want to finish. I will finish.
For now I have dreams of competing in a FULL Ironman. (2.5 Mile Swim - 112 Mile Bike - 26.2 - Mile Run) Yes that's a full Marathon at the end. I was competitive last year in age-group competitions at the Olympic distance (1M Swim - 26M Bike - 10K Run) and want more. Once I get that out of my blood, I'll get back to work. Until then, you can catch me out on my bike, in the pool or on the running paths. Gotta look good for all of the beach time i'll have after the plane is done!
Addition: I'll be creating a new site for my training and progress through triathlon 2011. It should pop up at nathanwolfe.com soon. Stop by and see what I'm up to.
